Angela Bennett est une informaticienne très douée. Omnubilée par la science de l'informatique, elle ne sort que rarement de chez elle, préférant communiquer via internet. Un jour, elle reçoit des informations ultra secrètes d'un ami qui se fait assassiner quelques heures après la réception du message. Angela se retrouve bientôt traquée par un commando inconnu. Obligée de fuir, elle doit se confronter à la réalité du monde extérieur. Sa fuite la mène à l'étranger où elle perd toute identité civile...
