Blondie est un groupe américain de rock, originaire de New York. Il est formé en 1974 par Deborah Harry et Chris Stein.
Pionnier de la scène pop punk des années 1970, le groupe devient célèbre pour son mélange électrique de styles musicaux
intégrant des éléments disco, pop, rap, reggae tout en conservant une base new wave.
Blondie compte plus de 40 millions d'albums vendus dans le monde. En 2017, le groupe sort un onzième album studio intitulé Pollinator.
Parmi leurs plus grands succès, on peut notamment citer Heart of Glass, Call Me, The Tide Is High, One Way or Another ou encore Atomic.
"The Platinum Collection" est une compilation de deux disques d'enregistrements de Blondie publié par EMI / Chrysalis en 1994.
Les quarante-sept pistes contiennet les faces A et B de tous les singles émis par le groupe aux États-Unis et au Royaume-Uni
entre le années 1976 et 1982 dans l'ordre chronologique, cinq enregistrements de démo réalisés avant la sortie de leur premier album
dont une version alternative de Heart of Glass, ainsi que deux remixes de danse 1994 de leurs tubes Atomic et Rapture.
