Dégotté dans les archives gouvernementales US et diverses universités, ces petits fascicules étaient distribués au G.I's en fonction de la zone d'opération vers laquelle ils étaient transférés durant la deuxième guerre mondiale. C'est plutôt amusant de voir la perception des américains de l'époque, et, si ça n'a pas beaucoup évolué chez eux, chez nous non plus !
Cela dit, ces fascicules étaient assez complets, coutumes, climat, plans de grandes villes, nourriture et souvent même un peu de vocabulaire. Une curiosité à découvrir.
Found in the US government archives and various universities, these little booklets were distributed to the G.I.s according to the area of operation to which they were transferred during WWII. It is rather amusing to see the perception of the Americans of the time, and, if it did not evolve much in their country, neither in ours!
That said, these booklets were quite complete, customs, climate, maps of big cities, food and often even a little vocabulary. A curiosity to discover.
