L'artiste Tom Odell, plusieurs fois primé et vendu en platine, revient en 2024 avec son sixième album studio, « Black Friday », après la sortie de la chanson titre en septembre 2023. La chanson « Black Friday », d'une beauté délicate, se transforme en un crescendo passionné, marque le plus grand lancement d'Odell sur les plateformes de streaming au moment de cette sortie, avec un énorme 2 millions de streams au cours des premières 24 heures. Tom Odell a été propulsé à l'avant-garde du grand public en 2013 lorsqu'il a sorti son premier album, « Long Way Down », vendu à plusieurs millions d'exemplaires, qui comprenait le single à succès mondial et éternel « Another Love ». Il a ensuite sorti quatre autres albums, le plus récemment étant le chef-d'œuvre minimaliste acclamé par la critique « Best Day Of My Life » (2022). Cet album, sa toute première sortie en tant qu'artiste indépendant, a vu la chanson titre remporter une nomination Ivor Novello pour la meilleure chanson musicalement et lyriquement.
