Courant 2022, le bluesman Manu Lanvin est chargé d’orchestrer et de rendre hommage à son ami Calvin Russell, célèbre artiste texan de la scène blues/rock, disparu en 2011. Le concert, affiché complet rapidement, continue à faire écho. Lanvin a  ainsi décidé d’en produire un album hommage, entouré d’invités plus ou moins proches du défunt musicien. De Charlélie Couture à Popa Chubby, en passant par Axel Bauer, Gérard Lanvin, Johnny Gallagher, Hugh Coltman, Théo Charaf ou encore Beverly Jo Scott, Craig Walker, Fred Chapellier, David Minster, Neal Black, Boney Fields et Haylen : ils sont une multitude d’artistes de tous les horizons, à reprendre le répertoire foisonnant de Russell, re-croisant habilement les sillons du blues, du rock et de la country.
