Lorsque le train de nuit Glasgow-Londres est piraté à l'aide d'un mystérieux dispositif, douze passagers se retrouvent piégés à bord...

Alors que le train est hors de contrôle et que toutes les communications ont été coupées, un ancien policier, Joe Roag, finit par prendre contact avec la directrice de la cybersécurité Abby Aysgarth, via un téléphone satellite.

Abby et son équipe découvrent bientôt que non seulement le train, mais aussi tout le réseau ferroviaire ont été piratés, le rendant impossible à contrôler. Joe et Abby, ces deux étrangers uniquement reliés par un téléphone, doivent désormais faire équipe et trouver un moyen d'arrêter ce train et sauver ses passagers...

Suite à la tragédie, les passagers, traumatisés, se retournent les uns contre les autres. Abby tente désespérément de rallier Joe, encore sous le choc, et de le convaincre de reprendre le contrôle. Dans une tentative désespérée pour arrêter le train à sa manière, Hud met plus que jamais les voyageurs en danger. Joe doit alors éteindre des incendies sur plusieurs fronts. Par ailleurs, Abby essaie de persuader Pev et Tobi de prendre des mesures extrêmes pour l'aider à découvrir ce que Miller lui cache réellement.
