Nouvelle édition remasterisée en qualité audiophile de la si populaire compilation de raretés (démos, chutes, pistes alternatives et autres retailles d'hostie) produite par George Martin au milieu des années 90. Cette fois les pistes des trois volume initiaux ont été remasterisées, mais pas remixées, par son fils Giles. Ce dernier a aussi produit pour l'occasion un quatrième volume d'inédits. Anthology 1 couvre les débuts du groupe de la fin des années 50, soit la période Quarrymen/Silver Beatles, jusqu'à la fin de 1964.
