Siouxsie And The Banshees est un groupe britannique emblématique du post-
punk et du rock gothique, formé en 1976. Mené par la charismatique Siouxsie
Sioux, le groupe a marqué l’histoire de la musique par son style visuel et sonore
unique, mêlant énergie punk, mélodies envoûtantes et atmosphères sombres.
"Juju", leur quatrième album studio sorti en juin 1981, est souvent considéré comme
un chef-d’œuvre du genre. Après une incursion dans l’électronique avec "Kaleidoscope
" (1980), le groupe revient à une approche plus guitaristique, portée par le jeu
innovant de John McGeoch. L’album est salué pour son intensité, ses dynamiques
captivantes et les performances vocales de Siouxsie. Des titres comme "Spellbound"
et "Arabian Knights" sont devenus des classiques, et l’album est régulièrement cité
comme une référence majeure du post-punk et du gothic rock. La critique
souligne son unité sonore, son ambiance envoûtante et son influence durable sur des
artistes comme Morrissey ou John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
