Il veterano compositore, flautista e sassofonista Charles Lloyd torna al formato trio con il doppio Figure in Blue. Nel 2022 ha pubblicato tre album dei Trios: Chapel, Ocean e Sacred Thread. I suoi collaboratori sono il pianista Jason Moran e il chitarrista Marvin Sewell. Hanno già lavorato con il sassofonista, ma questa è la prima volta che registrano insieme.
