"Wembley Arena 1979" was a farewell concert at Wembley Stadium. ABBA played to a sold-out crowd at London's Wembley Arena from November 5th to 10th as part of their 1979 North American and European tour, also known as ABBA: The Tour. Band members Björn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog agreed that these concerts were the highlight of the tour. The audience included such music stars as Joe Strummer of The Clash and Ian Dury. Several songs from the Wembley concerts were filmed for the television special ABBA in Concert, which aired the following year. In an interview with Ice The Site in December 2013, songwriter and pianist Benny Andersson confirmed that the live album would be released "exactly as it was" sometime in 2014, as part of the band's 40th anniversary. Andersson detailed that his son, Ludwig, spent hours recording, choosing the right material. Ludwig chose the November 10, 1979, concert for release. The decision was approved by all the members of ABBA, including Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, who listened to it in a studio in Stockholm.
