Sade's music has been with me practically my entire life, since early childhood. In 1986, my mother's brother's friend brought back a Diamond Life record from Yugoslavia. On the black and white cover was a stunningly beautiful woman. A little later, at the video store, they were playing foreign music videos for about 20 minutes before a movie, and that's where I saw the video for "Smooth Operator." And the young man was smitten. The singer's bright, beautiful lips, exotic appearance, and sensual voice captured my heart. There was no one even close to her in our pop scene, either in appearance or music. A decade later, when I was a long-haired metalhead teenager, I couldn't stop listening to Sade. I had the first four albums on cassette tapes. This collection includes all six albums from the remastered Japanese editions. They have the clearest sound. The first album was so-so, but things got better later. Enjoy listening, everyone.
