In Edo-period Japan, two flamboyant gay lovers — the married but restless Yaji and the drug-addicted actor Kita — embark on a wild pilgrimage to the Ise Grand Shrine in hopes of curing Kita's addiction and escaping their mundane lives. What begins as a quirky road trip quickly spirals into an absurd, time-bending adventure filled with bizarre encounters, surreal humor, anachronistic gags, transvestite singing, battles with historical figures, and over-the-top comedy.









Directed by Kankuro Kudo and starring Tomoya Nagase and Shichinosuke Nakamura, this cult Japanese comedy is a loose, wildly inventive adaptation of the classic "Tokaidochu Hizakurige" travelogue. A wild mix of road movie, fantasy, and queer comedy that breaks every convention.
