The World of Maynard Ferguson DVD has been released. This special was filmed on 16MM film in 1970 and features Maynard's British Big Band and some guests from the music world of that time. This DVD has 'the' classic show on it, throw away those 'bootleg' bad quality copies and be among the first to obtain this amazing DVD, complete with extras featuring commentary with Ernie Garside about his great time managing and playing with Maynard Ferguson at his peak. This performance is like a time capsule at the end of the 1960s!

The show is a classic piece of televsion history, and has never been seen since the original air date, as the master was lost many years ago. The DVD was duplicated from the only surviving copy. It is Maynard's own show, and features not only his British Big Band and his signature atmospheric trumpet, but also special guests from all different types of music of the day, including jazz singer Jon Hendricks, classical guitarist John Williams, pop band Arrival, singer Sylvia McNeil, and Indian musician Mukunda.

Special features include:
--An exclusive brand new interview with musician and friend Ernie Garside - who was also Maynard's manager in the '60s and '70s.
--'Memories of Maynard', never-before-seen rare footage shot by Gary Gillies from 1994-2004 of various gigs and events.
