REMEMBER ME is a 22-track collection of outtakes and rarities recorded between 1963 and 1967. Among some of the odds and ends are Redding's only attempt at a "dance craze" song ("The Boston Monkey"), a musical public service announcement ("Stay In School") and a poignant song co-written with his wife Zelma ("I've Got Dreams To Remember"). Redding pays homage to heroes Little Richard ("Send Me Some Lovin'") and Sam Cooke ("Cupid"), and also includes a Drifters cover ("There Goes My Baby") that was part of his repertoire long before he started recording. Among the unusual footnotes are a a remake of Redding's first, failed pre-Stax single ("She's All Right"), an often-overlooked Isaac Hayes-David Porter nugget ("Trick Or Treat") and a James Brown-inspired number featuring early employer Johnny Jenkins on guitar ("Come To Me"). Alongside Stax horn arrangements on songs such as "Loving By The Pound" (later covered by Solomon Burke) and "Little Ol' Me" are other uncommon nuances. These include the background vocals on "She's All Right" and "Don't Be Afraid Of Love" and a ballad cut with an anonymous female singer ("I'm Coming Home") that could have easily ended up on KING & QUEEN.
