Играя всяческое "даунтемпо", проект всегда стремился к получению результата, более ориентированного на живые инструменты. Это позволяло сравнивать Kinobe даже с Air, хотя на самом деле у последних разве что такая же любовь к древним синтезаторам. Музыка Kinobe, конечно, не столько "клубная", сколько пригодная для самого широкого слушания. Хотя и в известных пределах: все же ощущение некоторой несерьезности предлагаемого Блэкберном и Уолтерсом материала почти не оставляет. Их интерес к смешению культур приводит к тому, что на свет под соусом хауса и даунтемпо появляются регги-номера, почти рок-н-ролльные риффы, фанк, соул-вокал и вполне себе баллады, спетые разными приглашенными исполнителями. В целом "Wide Open" - чрезвычайно живая и пестрая палитра стилей, влияний и просто увлечений.
