Описание: Mike Martin is known for his fine art photography and his commercial photography for clients including Nice Collective, Adidas, Nike, and Microsoft. Morford is very well known in the Skateboarding world for his photography. "M.A.S.H." takes a look at the style of fixed gear riding in San Francisco. This film, modeled after the style of the skate and surf videos and with the talent of its directors, brings out the skills and beauty of these SF riders. This film will be a landmark in an already emerging subculture of urban riders.

Cyclists who abide by traffic regulations and seek to further the bicycle as a legitimate and legal form of transportation will take umbrage with Gabe Morford and Mike Martin's video project, MASH SF. The film, an overcaffeinated video ode to urban fixed-gear riding, is a well-rendered and cutting-edge document that has, since its release more than a year ago, become a touchstone for the swelling ranks of city cyclists. Shot on the notoriously hilly and curvacious streets of San Francisco, MASH follows a group of riders that button-up Palo Alto drivers would likely consider a gang of thugs, and it does so unapologetically. From the opening sequence of a lone rider slinking down an absurdly long and steep street, MASH launches into a fast-paced sequence of individual rider profiles and doesn't look back. There appear to be few, if any, rules of the road for the track bike aficionados of the San Francisco crew who "star" in the film, and there are even fewer helmets. Riders blast through red lights, cut at sharp angles through intersections, ride against traffic, traverse sidewalks and stairs when the mood hits, harass motorists and occasionally even other cyclists. While they lack V8 engines and leather jackets, the MASH riders possess all the cocksuredness (and tattoos) of a motorcycle gang.
