Aura Mystique seems to have the knack for snapping up quality black metal acts from the underground. Black Dementia are definitely one of the best I've heard in a long time, using the ancient Norwegian-style riffs intermingled with thrash sections and with a suitable fuzzy guitar sound so as to remind of earlier Emperor efforts. There are clean vocals on this release, which serve to really set it apart, even with only three songs on it. The female vocals are the clean ones, and she is a mighty singer - don't worry, this doesn't detract from the metalness of it all. This is one of the few bands I've ever come across that actually lets the singers do what they need to do when mixing it up like they do. She's really good, I reiterate, and a pleasure to hear. They use her most heavily on the third and last song, which serves as a fitting end to the disc. I would recommend this to those who like their thrash mixed with blackness, or who are into mid-90s black metal as such.
