Six months after leaving their posts as the horn section for the Herbaliser in order to wow the downbeat hip-hopcracy with their debut album as the Easy Access Orchestra, Andrew Ross and Ralph Lamb unleashed a second wholly different project under a second moniker. Rather than the soundtracked downtempo instrumentals of their previous work, however, Dust aligned itself with the distinct vocals and clankering guitar of new collaborator Adam Philips, who embellished the cinematic arrangements of the duo with some style -- these seemingly contradictory forces finding a mutual cohesion through some wonderfully memorable arrangements. Think Portishead's Geoff Barrow jamming in an Arizona truckstop with the Rolling Stones while the Eagles serve the coffee and doughnuts, and you'd be close to the sound of this particular Dirt Track Odyssey. ~ Kingsley Marshall, Rovi
