— американский журнал, посвящённый музыке и поп-культуре. Был основан в Сан-Франциско в 1967 году Дженном Уэннером (который до сих пор остаётся редактором и издателем) и музыкальным критиком Ральфом Глисоном. Выходит раз в две недели. На первых порах аудиторией журнала считалось поколение хиппи, однако издание быстро завоевало репутацию самого респектабельного журнала о современной музыкальной индустрии.

Пиком популярности Rolling Stone принято считать 1970-е годы, когда между музыкантами развернулось неофициальное соревнование за попадание на обложку журнала. В эти годы издание во многом определяло музыкальные вкусы американской публики. Многие опубликованные в журнале материалы получали общенациональный резонанс. Скажем, когда Элтон Джон признался на страницах журнала в своей гомосексуальности, количество продаж его записей снизилось многократно. Утверждается, что скептическое отношение журналистов Rolling Stone к хэви-металу затормозило рост популярности этого жанра в США.

В 1977 году в жизни журнала произошло важное событие: редакция переехала в Нью-Йорк, который считался центром новомодных тенденций в музыке. С другой стороны, Rolling Stone продолжает публиковать обширные эксклюзивные интервью с наиболее статусными музыкантами послевоенного времени — такими, как Боб Дилан и Джони Митчелл.

Ирландская группа U2 уже в 3ий раз установила новый рекорд посещаемости сольных концертов в США. Шоу квартета на стадионе Rose Bowl в Пасадене, штат Калифорния, состоявшееся 25 октября, собрало 97 тысяч человек. Предыдущий рекорд посещаемости составлял чуть более 86 тысяч человек и он был установлен также U2, в сентябре 1987 года на концерте на стадионе имени Джона Кеннеди в Филадельфии в поддержку альбома "Joshua Tree". Третьим по посещаемости в США шоу также стал концерт ирландцев - 29 сентября 2009 года на стадионе FedExField в Мэриленде U2 выступили перед почти 85 тысячами зрителей.
В рамках турне "360 Degree Tour" U2 устанавливают уже не первый рекорд. Ранее поклонниками группы был побит рекорд посещаемости стадиона "Уэмбли" в Лондоне.
25 августа 2010 года U2 впервые выступят в России; концерт группы пройдет на стадионе "Лужники" в Москве
