[spoiler="Об исполнителе (группе)"]
A while back, a sound was developed in Europe which was a playful swinging folk music which came to be referred to as the "Original Oberkrainer Sound" (remember Slavko Avsenik). Almost half a century later, the group Global.Kryner presents world hits and jazz standards in a modernized Oberkrainer style. The sextet from Austria interprets "Over the Rainbow" or "Like a Virgin", pieces by Cole Porter as well as from Tina Turner or the Beatles in clever, tempo-filled arrangements with accordion, clarinet, trumpet, guitar and trombone. Vocalist Sabine Stieger presents the songs in a beautiful soul voice, moving carefree sensuality across the stage. These musicians play with animated vivacity and their concerts are met with enthusiastic applause, especially among the young.
But who are these ”Glorious Six”?
Clarinetist and Global.Kryner founder Christof Spörk, is political scientist and musical cabaret producer (Salzburger Stier 2003 with Landstreich), and plays everything from Cuban rhythms to Styrian and Bulgarian sounds.
Trombonist and heroic tenor Sebastian Fuchsberger, well-known as the charming dynamo of ”Mnozil Brass”, performs ”globally” as brilliant yodeling tenor and groove coordinator on the bass trombone.
Accordion master Anton Sauprügl is music school director in Purgstall, Musikantenstadl-veteran and Oberkrainer expert, all in one.
Guitarist Edi Koehldorfer, excellent as Oberkrainer swinger, is also known as one of Austria’s best jazz musicians and has already played with the likes of Stephane Grappelli.
In experience and brilliance, a class by himself: Graz-born trumpeter Karl Rossmann. High Arturo, low Chet...brass experts will understand.
And last but not least: the new global.kryner singer Sabine Stieger from Lower Austria. After a fulminant global.kryner year with the long-standing Salzburg soul and pop singer Anne Marie Höller, the five ”globuli” have managed to discover a vocal goldmine who at the young age of 22 seems veritably born for the stage.
