The reunion virus just keeps on doing its rounds in the thrash world. Not only better known bands suffer from it, think Coroner, Forbidden, Anacrusis, but also totally unknown ones such as this Polish Magnus. Seeing the light of day in 1987 only to release their debut in 1992 and to split up in 1997 after three full-lengths. 2010 sees the reformation of these men. When I listen to this ‘Acceptance Of Death’ and older work such as ‘Scarlet Slaughterer’ the first thing that springs to mind is: ‘Why?’ Back in 1992 it was already all mediocrity with these Poles and that is, once again, the case in 2010.
Black thrash in the vein of Sarcofago, Vulcano and very early Sepultura is what we get served here. And to be brutally honest I can’t think of anyone longing for this. Unless one belongs to the group of people that praises anything that is old and mediocre to the skies and assigns cult status to such stuff. Okay, the production is way better than back in their first era and they also play a lot tighter but it is still as unmemorable. The fact that there is a grey substance between my ears impersonating a brain keeps the music from passing right through my head within a microsecond. Thirteen songs are fired away in 38 minutes from opener ‘False God’ to closer ‘There’s No Use Lamenting’. And, believe it or not, not a single second of it makes me veer up and think: Hey, that’s cool. Just thirteen songs of black thrash pounding away relentlessly without any variation.

If it had been played really untight it would have given me some sort of amusement, but even that isn’t the case. All in all, an ideal album to play during those nights when one suffers from insomnia. I will bet my left had that you will not make it to the end of the album before dosing off and falling sound asleep.
