Цитата: Funkin Even 1956, to give him his full title, is the newest artist signed to the Floating Points-helmed Eglo Records. Already given righteous airplay from Benji B on his 1Xtra show and due to arrive on the playlists of those in the know, the 'Kleer' EP contains four tracks of luminescent future-funk paying tribute to the group of the title (Kleeer) and sounding like Dâm-Funk producing for Georgia Anne Muldrow on a space base just above West London. This can largely be explained by the presence of Eglo's in-house chanteuse Fatima, draping soul-cool vocal over Funkin's astrally-inclined synths and glistening bass gloop. Following this, 'You' on the flipside jacks into a pre-house soul groove pivoting on whipcracked snares and stuttering vocal edits while the anthem-in-waiting 'Mad Swing' ruffles cowbells, lazered keys and irresistible boogie vibes into a proper rudeboy 80's funk groove. Fans of Floating Points, Alexander Nut or Benji B's radio shows and Seiji would be a fool to miss out on this. Big twelve!
