Имея 35 летний музыкальный стаж, Third World продолжают оставаться одной из наиболее признанных регги групп Ямайки.
Коллектив образовался в далеком 1973 году в Кингстоне (Ямайка).
Первый состав группы: Bill "Bunny Rugs" Clarke - вокал, гитара; Stephen "Cat" Coore - гитара, бас, гармоника, ударные, вокал; Michael "Ibo" Cooper - клавишные; Richard Daley - бас, гитара, ударные; Irving "Carrot" Jarrett - ударные, вокал и William Stewart - ударные.
Third World стремится к совершенству музыки регги, сочетая ямайский реггей и африканскую народную музыку, американскую поп-музыку, ритм & блюз, соул, рэп и классическую музыку. За долгий период существования в группе происходили изменения в составе, но Third World продолжают стабильно выступать вшестером, причем трое музыкантов из первоначального состава всегда находятся на переднем плане сцены.
Third World гастролирует по всему миру, участвуя в сольных, а также благотворительных проектах, таких, как “The Jamaican Children’s Heart Fund Inc.”
