Funguswas born in 2002 as a “total improvisation project”; later the band evolved into more defined compositions, suspended between a hot-tube-guitar-rock and folk-acoustic temptations
In 2004, they recorded their first official album, Careful!, released on mellow records on 2006
New members joined the original Alejandro J. Blissett (guitars) and Carlo ʻzerotheheroʼ Barreca (bass guitar): Claudio Ferreri (keys), Dorian Deminstrel (vocals, ac. guitar) and Stefano Firpo (drums).
At the end of 2006 the band released a short EP, 25 grams, with 5 new songs. In 2007 and 2008 they dedicated to gigs and compositions. In this period, the band played in the prestigious “sea wave” gig.

Better Than Jesus, the second LP, is the result of all the work that took place in 2006 - 2010: eight songs that were composed, played “on the road”, and then impressed on round surface.
