For the better part of the last decade, the guys in Nice Nice have been
jumping genres: from their debut full-length, Chrome (2003), which saw
the duo move comfortably between ambient soundscapes and glitch-funk,
to their more recent collaboration with electronica wunderkind Cex on
the raunchy Actual Fucking (2006). Teaser singles from their Warp
Records debut, Extra Wow, all point to further explorations in form.
The abrasive industrial stomp of "One Hit" recalls garage-rock
ancestors, while the nimble rhythm and guitars of "See Waves" sound
like some mathy version of highlife. Since expanding their roster, Warp
has catapulted other hard-to-classify bands into the upper echelons of
indie music (think Battles, !!!, and Grizzly Bear), which augurs well
for the "post-everything" experimenters from Portland.

The album will be released on April 6, 2010.
