Diabolic - Subterraneal Magnitude (8/10)

OK, I'm really not the biggest Death Metal-fanatic under the black sun, but noise as DIABOLIC is offering to us is made for me! With deadly precision theses Floridians are shredding through 35 minutes of brilliant Death.

The riffs are mighty and more often than not remind me of the Florida-godz MORBID ANGEL. Their controversial last offering "Gateways To Annihilation" should have sounded like this. I don't have any problems with progressive stuff, but when I want to hear Death Metal it has to steamroll me! And DIABOLIC do that from the beginning until the end! They are thrashing like madmen, but never over a whole song. Especially the slow-paced parts are heavy as hell! The grunts also have class, unlike most other Death-acts! The production cuts marble, I am sure, it is more than razor-sharp!

A really outstanding album in the extreme sector, no doubt! Fans of this sound may add another 1,5 points!
