The latest cut from the house of Horizontal comes courtesy of head
seamstress herself Dinky.It comes as no surprise then that Paquita
our eponymous A-side heroine dances as well as she dresses. With
unabashed bounce in the bass, a hip-shaking kick and impassioned
vocal hook, the track issues funk and soul in abundance as it makes
headway towards sumptuous stabs of a delectably old-school flavour.
Matthew Styles weaves his thread through proceedings to tailor a
revamp of Paquita in deftly-cut club couture. Elements of dub bubble
over a relentlessly driven beat in what is a typically cool and
candid offering from the Horizontal stalwart.
B-side beauty Amanda expands on the bounce of the flip, inviting a
welcome Dinky dalliance in the sort of house that jack built rolling
hats trip over sprightly beats to bear all the hallmarks of classic
