The Midnight - Progressive metal group from Baku (Azerbaijan), was formed in 2006. The present band consists of 5 members: Mikail Rafiev - Vocals Andrey Kudinov - Bass guitar Hafiz Bakhishov - Electric/acoustic guitars, keyboards and vocals Fardi Ramazanov - Drums, percussion and vocals Kenan Aleskerov - Keyboards Everything began in the 8th grade of high school, when Hafiz Bakhishov (born on 10th December 1991 in Baku, Azerbaijan) and Andrey Kudinov (born on 16th January 1991 in Baku , Azerbaijan) were both into rock music , guitar and bass guitar. Respectively the idea of forming a band came onto their minds. The group is known as The Midnight (the first word from an english-russian dictionary they picked). Mikail Rafiev (born on 30th August 1987 in Baku, Azerbaijan) who met Hafiz Bakhishov on one of the music-TV shows in 2005, was invited to The Midnight as a vocalist. Mikail Rafiev loved this idea and joined the band. The first drummer of The Midnight, Teymur Valiev (born on 11th January 1987 in Filer, Dagestan) was found by Andrey's friends. Also, the keyboard player Leyla Tuayeva was invited to the group by Teymur. This structure has existed till spring of 2007. During this time the group has written some songs, such as : "She", "Life through child's eyes" and "Midnight Kiss". The band also took part in several local rock festivals. In Spring of 2007 Leyla Tuayeva and later in Autumn of the same year Teymur Valiev, left the group because of creative disagreements. In the same time, the group has found a replacement. Fardi Ramazanov (born on 24th February 1986 in Baku, Azerbaijan) who already played in local rock groups known as Ferrum and Unformal, became a new drummer of the band. This year the group took part in various concerts, and also started to work on new tracks for the debut album "23:61". But with the advert of a new keyboard player Kenan Aleskerov, in the end of 2008 The Midnight decided to rewrite the ready tracks for "23:61". That's why the date of the release moved to the summer of 2010. "23:61" was influenced by such groups as Tool, Dream Theatre and Opeth. At the mean time The Midnight is preparing new material for the second album. The group goes deeper and deeper into progressive metal genre. They have made their music more technical and recognizable within the limits of progressive metal, than their debut album "23:61".
