REVIEW FROM METAL TO INFINITY:

Palace is a totally unknown band to me. It seems that these guys are from Germany and ''Divine Intervention'' is already their fifth (!) album. Where were these guys hiding for all these years? Am I so ignorant about Metal? I suppose so because, honestly, I have never heard from these guys before.

Looking at the pictures of these guys it seems they are experienced enough, or should I say old enough? No ultra young violence but a band that goes for their own ideas, not compromising with new trends or whatsoever. Palace seems to be more than a decent Heavy Metal album with a clear sound and hitting hard their tunes. Palace is strongly influenced by the Eighties Metal movement and chose for heavy riffs, hard hitting drums and melodic arrangements. Often they do remind me to Accept, especially because of HP Piller's voice or even Lordi. To be honest Palace sounds better than both bands, especially because the guitar rhythms and solo's are much better chosen. Another comparable band is Rage and I suppose you will understand now that Palace contains a typical German sound. Nevertheless also a bit of a Metal Church sound can be heard...

Best song to me is 'Bloodsuckers', a mighty track if you would ask me. Not only the intro but also the atmosphere of the entire song is outstanding. Also on the other tracks, like 'The Healer' and 'When I Die' Palace shows to have enough skills to be more respected. Especially the guitars are ear catching, very interesting and often fast fingered. Looking at the pictures again I am convinced this is a true live band so I hope to see them in the near future.

Palace's ''Divine Intervention'' is a good album that deserves your attention. Be sure I will search their previous albums.
