С группы "Master Scratch Band" начался хип хоп в Сербии в ранних 80-х, когда те выпустили свой первый мини-альбом "Degout" в стиле электро-брейкбит в 1984 году на лейбле Jugoton.

В состав группы входили Зоран Жевтич, Зоран Врацевич и Милютин Стасилевич. Приходилось изворачиваться с драм машинами, синтезаторами, вокодерами, процессорами эффектов так, как никто этого не делал, чтобы получить нужное звучание, поскольку семплеры были очень дорогими в то время.

Jugoton выпустил альбом 'Degout' в Загребе, который попал в списки чартов и много раз упоминался на телевидении.

Master Scratch Band is a group considered to have started Serbian hip hop

Yugoslav (now Serbian) hip hop started in the early 80's, with the first sound recording of Master Scratch Band's Degout EP, which was released through Jugoton in the year 1984. - 5-tracker presenting electro-breakbeat tracks with rap in English and Serbian.

Zoran Jevtic, Zoran Vracevic and Milutin Stojisiljevic composed, programmed, recorded and produced MSB project. Since the only samplers available then, were far beyond financial reach of ordinary mortals, the trio had to employ some serious tricks to achieve the sound they wanted. Synthesizers,drum machines, vocoders and delay processors were used in a way no-one did before and the resulting technological feat was quite astonishing at the time.

The team worked with a number of contributors over a month or so in a famous studio 'DrugaMaca'. The studio time was free of charge, since Enco, the owner, was so impressed and curious about the MSB's music, which was so radically different.

The EP 'Degout' was published by Jugoton, Zagreb (tody Croatia), and resulted in two chart hits and a number of TV appearances.
