Duran Duran – культовая британская рок-группа из Бирмингема. Группа образовалась в 1978 году. Название коллектив получил по имени главного отрицательного персонажа фильма Барбарелла. Наряду с Depeche Mode ведущая команда коммерческого направления в музыке начала 1980-х, вышедшего из «новой волны» и близкого к электропопу. Duran Duran имели огромный успех по обе стороны Атлантики, а их альбомы продавались миллионными тиражами.

Что сказать об этом альбоме? Наверное один из лучших альбомов в истории поп-музыки вообще, ведь каждая песня – хит. Rio катапультировал Duran Duran в стан суперзвёзд как в США, так и в Европе. Я считаю ремастеринг 2001 года самым лучшим из всех.
