Uniform Motion is an Anglo-French Illustrated Indie Folk band combining music with visual arts created by Renaud Forestie and Andy Richards. During live performances, Renaud live-sketches using a video projector, while Andy builds up a soundscape with with his guitar, loopstation and voicebox resulting in a hypnotising audio-visual experience.
Uniform Motion's second album, Life (2010), comes with 8 songs, and a collection of 9 canvas illustrations. Available on CD and in a bunch of digital formats, the album is included in all of poster and canvas packs. (uniformmotion.net)

Life is the album from British/French musical conglomeration Uniform Motion. It's the second full length album that we've received from the indie pop/rock outfit. What Uniform Motion serve up is a set of songs that place the emphasis squarely on their gorgeous vocals. Harmonies, melodies, and hooks all flow freely from the band. Those outstanding vocals are backed capably by mood-setting musical arrangements. Sometimes those are based on light electro-pop, as on the opener "Saving Up for Sundays", sometimes they are based on a delicate string arrangement, as on "The Black Box". They are at their best though when a dark element creeps in like we hear in the ominous ebb-and-flow of "Storm Eye".
Despite all the technical aspects being firmly in place, there is something missing from the music. While the songs are undeniably beautiful creations, there is a lack of soul to much of it. It sounds as though the band is so concerned with the perfect notes that they scrub the energy and heart from many of the tracks. Life is no doubt an album written by talented musicians. It is just a shame they do not let that talent flow a little more naturally a little more often. Best tracks: "Roll Over", "Storm Eye" (snobsmusic.net)

..main songwriter Andrew Richards has created sensitive folk-ish songs with electronic flourishes. Uniform Motion concentrates on acoustic material but with added muscle from a punchy production and strident rhythms; like a less awkward and more approachable version of Hood.
Underscored by crisp percussion and lovely harmonies, ‘Back Up Your Soul’ is undoubtedly one of the highlights but the warmth of ‘Oskar’ is equally persuasive. Even at its most forlorn (‘Storm Eye’), thanks to Richards’ hushed tones and his gift for finding a hook, the music is always fresh and involving.
Compared to his work as Angle, Richards has clearly developed as a songwriter and found a stronger voice too. So together with his bandmates, ‘Life’ is a confident – if slightly too short – album that grows in stature after each listen.. (leonardslair.wordpress.com)
