Anima Dominum biography
Anima Dominum are a rather eclectic Brazilian band with no strong obvious influences, which makes sense since the band's members claim their formation was borne out of a desire to express themselves musically without the restriction of any particular genre or style. The band's keyboards bear a mild resemblance to earlier ELP, but the heavy Latin accent in their guitar and especially percussion give them a sound all their own.
The band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1991, and despite numerous personnel shifts and short periods of inactivity, are still an active band today. The band returned to the studio in the fall of 2006 to record their fourth release.
The band's music can best be described as slightly gregarious, keyboard intensive with an electric rhythmic guitar that manages to project a Spanish inflection that makes for a unique and interesting sound next to the other, more traditional rock guitar and bass. The band's studio work is marred slightly by low-resolution mixes (probably 16-track), but the energy demonstrated clearly suggest the band is a pleasure to witness in a live setting.
Anima Dominum continue to tour and appear in trade magazines and on radio today, having restored many members from the original lineup
Anima Dominum deserve a place in the Archives for their clearly creative and progressive use of keyboards, complex and multicultural compositions, and expansive instrumental passages in their infrequent but well-scored extended tracks.

[spoiler="Об альбоме (сборнике)"]
Anima later change name to Anima Dominum in view of legal questions as there was another Brazilian band called ANIMA (The folk one, I had posted in this forum before).

The band returned to the studio in the fall of 2006 to record their fourth release with many former members.
After big success and a good start (even in adverse conditions), the pressure for a good return and more international exposure was faced with simplicity. Logistical problems during the recording sessions of this second work almost brought the band to a collapse. However, Zé Lima, Frederico Paulo, Flávio Araujo, and David proved to be in an excellent shape, with almost perfect adaptation to each other. Cláudio Cepeda's bass on "Big Bang," the female vocals of Liliane Falcao, and Andre Zichtl's participation on electric guitars complement the highlights of this CD.
