Ветераны немецкой сцены - группа, сформированная вокалистом Gerrit P. Murtz (Vanguard, Astral Door, Dawn Of Winter, Variety Of Arts/Tragedy Divine) и исполняющая традиционную форму прямолинейного heavy / power metal, в стиле близком к Manowar. Их дебютный альбом 'Reborn In Steel' вышел в конце 1997 года и получил превосходные отзывы типа "Альбом необходим каждому фанату True Metal!" (Gotz Kuhnemund, Rock Hard, 8,5 из 10) или "Забойнейший альбом! не пропустите!" (Detlef Dengler, Heavy oder was!?, 10 из 12). В июле 1998 года группа записала второй альбом 'Wargods Of Metal'. В январе 2000 пришло время писать третий альбом 'Bloodlust'. Alan Tecchio из Hades, NonFiction и Watchtower немного спел на нём. В 2004 году вышел альбом 'Iron Blessings', в 2006 - 'Hammer of Destruction'. За годы карьеры они побывали в таких странах, как Greece, Italy, France, Sweden, Poland и Spain, выступили на фестивалях Swordbrothers, Thrash Assault, Summer Breeze Open Air, Wacken Open Air, Mind over Matter и делили сцену с Nnevermore, Lefay, Nocturnal Rites, Destiny`s End, Wardog, Sodom, Subway To Sally и др. Затем частично изменился состав - теперь в нём есть музыканты из Dawn Of Winter , Disbelief и Mystic Prophecy. В 2009 году был записан очередной полноформатный студийный альбом 'Carnage Victory'. Запись сделана в Music Factory Studio, Kempten, Germany (The Lust, Mystic Prophecy, Chastain, Valley`s Eve). Сводил и мастерил запись Achim Kohler (Primal Fear, Sinner). В записи принял участие известный греческий музыкант R D Liapakis (Valley's Eve, Mystic Prophecy, David Chastain, Jack Starr's Guardians of the Flame). Альбом содержит композицию-посвящение группе Mercyful Fate - "Don t Break The Oath".

"So here they are again, Germany's "truest" band: SACRED STEEL. Titled "Bloodlust", they offer their third output and just like before are living out each cliche there can be.

The songs surely are good, especially the fast "Dark Forces Lead Me To The Brimstone Gate" or the MANOWAR-like "Master Of Thy Fate", but still it is nothing that would make them stand out from the legions of other Power Metal-bands.

Well, if they understood themselves as a parody of the partly very narrow-minded attitude of some people, SACRED STEEL would be close to invincible, but as a serious band, I really have some problems with them. Not to conjure up any misunderstandings: I don't see this band as a joke or as hopeless, no, no, but the music, just like said before, is nothing extraordinary, the choruses a bit dumb and Gerrit's voice always has been and always will be a 'love it or hate it'-thing.

I already can hear many True Metallers howling in agony, already toying with the thought of mailing me some bomb-letters, but if I put in a Power Metal-CD, then it says ICED EARTH, LEFAY or GAMMA RAY on the cover, not SACRED STEEL... "
