The Bohicas are Domino’s latest signing, but more accurately they're four young men from Essex and the east London borderlands making ambitious and arresting rock 'n' roll. They also have a serious stage presence and are destined to be heralded as a great live act.

Four Essex lads are currently causing an animate stir within the alternative rock genre, sending us wild with their moody rock sound. They’re called The Bohicas if you’re asking.
After playing with Franz Ferdinand in Ibiza this year and signing to Domino Records earlier this month, The Bohicas released a dual video for new releases ‘XXX / Swarm’, proving their meaty sound to be a complete refreshment to what we’re typically accustomed to.

‘XXX’ has a rapidly interchanging beat, mimicking the heartbeat being portrayed within the accompanying video extravaganza. Sex and ruthlessness transpire as the two main manipulators in this track. Throbbing just like a wound, ‘XXX’ keys itself on bodies, the audience, scratching away at any innocence, throwing it on the floor to abuse and spit devilish words of not giving a fuck.

‘Swarm’ takes on a life of a spiteful wasp, (seemingly seen to be The Bohicas logo). A full-pelt drumbeat rapidly catches up with almighty thumps of animosity, booming out continuously, one after the other, sharply clocking into the rush factor. Once we reach the ‘SWARM’, McGuinness’ voice strains; twisting the sound to become all the more vicious, spitting out repulses one after the other. We can’t help screaming the vocals with him, easily echoed but not without overwhelming acidity, smouldering the bitter pain with fury and angst.
