Dreamstate was formed by producers/songwriters and musicians Chris Rehn (Angtoria, Abyssos etc) and Tomas Wallin (Takida) in november 2011.

Since both Chris and Tomas work with music full time, and Chris owns and runs Boxroom Studios, their aim was set to write and record music that doesn´t have any boundries, music that doesn´t have any restraints or have any ties to anything but themselves, music that doesn´t need to fall under a certain genre, and that could include any style, feeling, instrument and production that they themselves felt fit to a specific song. With inspiration taken all the way from metal to pop music, mixing all types of instruments and genres together, the music of dreamstate is all about not being restricted to any genre of music.

In december 2011, Dreamstate was asked to write and record a song to be used as an official song for a swedish rally car driver named Ramona Karlsson (www.ramonarallying.com), and her 2012 world championship effort, sponsored by Mitsubishi and Höganäs.

Chris and Tomas, wrote, produced and recorded the song at Boxroom Studios (owned and operated by Chris Rehn), and asked singers Elize Ryd (Amaranthe) and Tommy Levin to participate with the vocal duties for the song to be named "Evolution", which is the first official song by Dreamstate.
