Skydog Woody is a recording project featuring two of the world's most famous guitars; Duane Allman's 1957 Gibson Goldtop Les Paul & Allen Woody's Gibson Thunderbird bass. The Goldtop was used on the Allman Brothers' first albums and Eric Clapton's Layla. The Thunderbird was also used on numerous Allman Brothers' records. With Joe Davis on vocals/guitars, Garry Harper on bass, and Patrick Daniel Trombly on drums, the trio intends to showcase the guitars' legendary status to reignite the magic that these guitars possess. With the blessings and approvals of all parties
involved, the band is taking on this project with a lot of love and respect for these guitars and where they come from.
