More than 4 years after their previous record, Kumm continue to explore and test the boundaries of established music genres. The band avoids being pigeonholed into a particular style; you could think of "A Mysterious Place Called Somewhere" as somewhat more progressive in terms of approach, hinting towards the band's early days (together with Eugen doing lead vocals once again). Then again, the record is teeming with influences ranging from britpop to blues, alternative rock and post punk, while the distorted guitar feels quite grungy at certain times.

Take these cited influences with a grain of salt, however; the band's been making music for more than 16 years now, and their experience and increasingly developed identity shine through at all times, making for a fresh and entertaining listen.
