[spoiler="Marathon biography"]
Not to be confused with the Dutch band of the same name, Marathon was another obscure Italian Neo Prog band, this time from Treviso, led by guitarist and vocalist Glauco Giacchello. He was the original bassist of the nearby legendary act ASGARD, but he left the group before the release of their official debut. Shortly after he found Marathon with Marco D'Iseppi on keyboards, Gianluca Pistolato on drums and Fernando Mastromatteo on bass. The band was signed by the German label WMMS/Music is Intelligence, on which they released two albums, ''Impossible Is Impossible'' in 1993, followed by ''Sublime dreams'' just a year later. In this second work Mastromatteo had been replaced by new member Roberto Pistolato.It seems that Marathon disbanded after these albums, leaving behind two documentaries of atmospheric Neo Prog, a bit similar to ASGARD, with heavier overtones in the vein of RUSH.
