The Indigo Kings play original jazzy blues and are based in Gloucestershire/Worcestershire, UK

The Indigo Kings was formed in early 2011 by the band’s bass player and lyrical mastermind, Carl, with
nothing but a 'war & peace'-sized catalogue of scribbled words about heartache and desire and an
empty barn with a resident polystyrene alligator.
Fast forward to 2013 and the 7-piece band plays original ‘vintage pop’ inspired by the jazz, blues and
swing beats of yesteryear. Sweet and saucy harmony vocals meet with gritty lyrics to tell stories of life
and love, whilst smooth sax is woven together with jazz piano to create a foot
tapping vintage yet modern sound that sits somewhere in the melodic haze between Duke Ellington,
Caro Emerald and Paloma Faith.

The Indigo Kings play a tantalising mix of original jazz, blues and swing, and blend it with old school nostalgia to form ‘vintage pop’ songs that will have your feet tapping and your head swaying. The swinging piano, soulful blues guitar, roaring sax and delicious dual harmony vocals confirm that the music of yesteryear is back, reinvented and here to stay!
