Hailing from Sweden, Harmony's origins date back to the year 2000. In 2003 they released their debut Dreaming Awake, after which four of the band's five members formed Progressive Metal act Darkwater who released their debut in 2007. Now eight years later, the original members of Harmony have reunited to grace us with their follow-up Chapter II: Aftermath.

Harmony play an extremely catchy brand of Melodic Power Metal with touches of Prog influences, that is loaded with powerful hooks, and sweeping, beautiful choruses. If you enjoy your Power Metal with a lot of bite, and are not opposed to christian themes, then this will serve you well. Vocalist Henrik Bath's performance on this album is spectacular, his vocal delivery is similar to that of Joakim Olsson of Supreme Majesty. Guitarist Markus Sigfridsson bowls your ass over with his heavy, crunchy riffs, and the alternating guitar/keyboard solos on display in most of the songs just flat out smoke! And if that is not enough, we get a guest performance on the song "Inner Peace" from vocal god Daniel Heiman of Lost Horizon/Heed fame. The production is perfect, providing the listener with a crystal clear and powerful wall of sound. In terms of tempo most of the album is fast-paced with the exception of the forgettable ballad "Silently We Fade", and mid-paced stompers "I Run" and "End Of My Road".

While not a perfect album, it is certainly worthy of a place in any Power Metal lovers collection. Chapter II: Aftermath is a very good sophomore effort which rightfully should give these swedes a higher level of recognition. This is a band to keep your eye on.
