The Faint - американская инди-рок-группа. Омаха, Штат Небраска, США. Образованы в 1995 году. Группа состоит из Тодда Финка, Якоба Тила, Михаэля Даппена (Dapose), Джоуля Петерсена и Кларка Бэечла. The Faint первоначально называлась Norman Bailer (в группе ещё состоял Конор Оберст, который через 2 года, в 1997 году создаст культовую группу Bright Eyes). Он ушел из группы в самом начале её творчества, The Faint записывали музыку на двух лейблах Bright Eyes и на Saddle Creek Records.

Финк, Петерсен, и Бэечл занимались скейтбордингом в свободное время до тех пор пока Финк не получил серьёзную травму колена, после этого ребята перестали кататься и всерьёз занялись музыкой. группа первоначально состояла из Кларка Бэечла, Тодда Финка, и Джоуля Петерсена. Они отправили свои записи на Saddle Creek Records и выпустили несколько синглов, но продажи были далеки от идеалов. После прихода Мэтта Бауэна, The Faint выпустили альбом Media. Во время первого тура, Бауэн ушёл и был заменен Якобом Тилом. Следующий альбом, Blank-Wave Arcade, был более танцевальный с отчётливыми техно эффектами, альбом признан успешным, он стал хитом в андеграунд кругах. после альбома Danse Macabre, в The Faint пришёл Dapose, гитарист прежде игравшим death metal в группе LEAD. Их следующий альбом, выпущенный в 2004, назван Wet from Birth.

В мае 2008, The Faint объявили, что они разорвали контракт с Saddle Creek и что их пятый студийный альбом будет выпущен самостоятельно. blank.wav выпускают диск названный Fasciinatiion, он был выпущен 5-ого августа 2008 в США.
