Split Image is a German street-rock band from Paderborn, founded in 1992. Until 1996, they released two albums, the debut LP, "Guten Tag!” in the punk scene, achieved cult status. The band broke up in 1997 after the album "Ich Bin Ich". In February 2007, she signed up with the album "Tod und Teufel" back in the original line.
Split Image played in the years between 1992 and it's first resolution in 1998 by Hamburg to Bregenz and Montabaur to Chemnitz with increasing success. They had found a good combination of road and hard rock, not least because the two guitarists were from the hard rock scene. Thus did the three skinheads and the two metalheads a creative symbiosis and took the name "Split Image" (split personality) all the glory. Of course, the music style of the band was no longer only the Oi! Punk associate.
Split Image managed to quickly outside Paderborn's the status of a recognized band in the Oi!-Punk scene. In 1997, the break, and Daniel and Mobil left the band to start his own project. The other three decided, at least not yet planned to merge the CD and give some previously scheduled concerts. End of 1997, then came out the CD “Ich bin Ich”.
After major riots on a Paderborn concert where played under other Terror and Dödelhaie, between skinheads and hooligans on one side and punks and metalheads on the other hand, the band decided to play no further public appearances. Also, fan letters and bids by the label could not sway the band.
Only in 2002 was held the first meeting of the original line. At the suggestion of the Impact label, which now operates under KMG Music, and the agency of Marco Lohre 2004 buried the last, Daniel Jansen and Gian-Franco Messina the hatchet and agreed to a reunion. It will take a year to the first rehearsal took place four.
On 2 March 2007 released the reunion album "Tod und Teufel" in the original cast.
From October 2010, Split Image play back live and travel all over Germany to their new album "...bringen Licht".
