2013, Axe is a melodic rock band that originated in Florida in the late ´70s by former members of Babyface. The original lineup consisted of Bobby Barth (guitar, lead vocals), Edgar Riley (keyboards), Mike Turpin (bass), Mike Osbourne (guitar), and Teddy Mueller (drums). They released four albums of polished melodic rock and reached the charts with their third, OFFERING. Tragically, Osbourne died in an automobile accident in 1984 and Axe disbanded. The second coming of Axe included Bob Harris (Frank Zappa, Warren Zevon) on keyboards and vocals, Blake Eberhard (Windmachine) on bass and Christian Teele on Drums. Axe performed at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2012 and were captured live for the first time ever by six HD video camera crews. Barth recruited longtime friend Mark Pinske (Frank Zappa) and Ben Watts to help with the video production and the result is a stunningly brilliant DVD and CD of that concert sure to please and amaze Axe fans of all ages.
