Канзас; ударные, перкуссия) в городе Топека, штат Канзас. Парни сменили название своей группы «White Clover» на «Kansas» и пригласили к себе Керри Ливгрена (р. 18 сентября 1949, Канзас; гитара, вокал), Роберта Стейнхардта (скрипка, струнные, вокал) и Ричарда Вильямса (р. Канзас; гитара). Хотя «Kansas» и были штатовской группой, в их творчестве было очень заметно влияние британских коллективов того времени типа «Yes» и «Genesis», что особенно отражалось в текстах Уолша.
