Премьера мюзикла состоялась 11 мая 1981 года на сцене Нового лондонского театра, а 7 октября 1982 года - состоялась премьера на Бродвее. В 1998 году была снята видеоверсия, с удивительной точностью передававшая атмосферу шоу.
