HUMAN FACTOR come from Santiago, Chile and they have opened for bands like Mago De Oz and After Forever in their country. This is their first full length album that was first released in South America and now crossed the Antlantic to our enjoument.
What HUMAN FACTOR unleash with this record is a mixture of speed, power and a little bit of thrash with obvious neoclassical elements. This means that their guitarists, especially Guillermo Olivares who in the picture yields a red scalloped Stratocaster, wears a black shirt and golden accessories bringing in mind a certain Yngwie…, is inspired by the masters of the six-string goddess embodying these elements in their songwriting.
“Unleashed” is strong and powerful yet not something new, although innovation can be found with a magnifying glass nowadays. Fast riffs, neoclassical parts, double bass drumming rhythms and high pitched vocals (that sometimes are way to screechy for the range of the singer’s voice) are the main points of this album. The songs have the usual structure and there is not much diversity since the style never changes, but this certain style is conquered by the band. The production gives an extra attention to the guitar sound which is heavy and not buried. More heavy than melodic, more technical than just powerful, sometimes epic and some speedy, “Unleashed” guarantees some strong moments while listening to it.
All in All HUMAN FACTOR made a professional work with this album, they surely can claim a share of the fans’ attention, especially guitarists, but they are still away from becoming a super band. Their current news say that they replaced their singer and we can only hope for better outcomes in the future. If you like Helloween, Hammerfal (of the first two albums), Stormwitch along with stuff from virtuoso guitarists like Impelliteri then this release may interest you.
