Originally, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds were formed in Australia in 1984 by two former members of the Australian band The Birthday Party, a vocalist, poet and keyboardist Nick Cave and multi-instrumentalist Mick Harvey. A little later they were joined by a member of the German industrial group Einsturzende Neubauten Blix Bargeld (guitar), another member of The Birthday Party Hugo Reis (guitar) and bassist of punk band Magazine Barry Adamson. In this lineup, the band recorded and released their debut album From Her to Eternity (1984). Later, the composition of the team changed many times, the only remaining participants are the founders of Bad Seeds Cave and Harvey.
