Star Wars Episode I is the fourth film in order of production of the Star Wars saga. In narrative order, as the subtitle "Episode I ", represents the beginning of the saga. It is the first film of the "new trilogy" (episodes I, II and III), the antecedent of the "original trilogy (episodes IV, V and VI). The prequels have pioneered the use of digital equipment in High Definition than film.

The evil Trade Federation, led by Nute Gunray is planning to take over the peaceful world of Naboo. Jedi's Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are sent to confront the leaders. But not everything goes to plan. The two Jedis escape, and along with their new Gungan friend, Jar Jar Binks head to Naboo to warn Queen Amidala, but droids have already started to capture Naboo and the Queen is not safe there. Eventually they land on Tatooine, where they become friends with a young boy known as Anakin Skywalker. Qui-Gon is curious about the boy, and sees a bright future for him. The group must now find a way of getting to Coruscant and to finally solve this trade dispute, but there is someone else hiding in the shadows. Are the sith really extinct? Is the Queen who she really says she is? and what's so special about this young boy?

Star Wars Episodio I è il quarto film, in ordine di produzione, della saga Guerre Stellari. In ordine narrativo, come indica il sottotitolo "Episodio I", rappresenta invece l'inizio della saga. È infatti il primo film della "nuova trilogia" (episodi I, II e III), antefatto della "trilogia originale" (episodi IV, V e VI). I prequel hanno svolto un ruolo pionieristico nell'utilizzo delle attrezzature digitali in Alta Definizione rispetto alla pellicola.

17 anni dopo Il ritorno dello Jedi (terzo episodio della saga) è tornato Guerre stellari,uno dei progetti più costosi e redditizi di tutta la storia del cinema. George Lucas non ha firmato film per ben 23 anni. Certo, il primo film del 1977 è una pietra miliare del cinema, un gioiello di perfezione che meritava di restare unico. Che detta legge, comunque, è il mercato e in questa chiave siamo arrivati al quarto episodio, anche se in linea temporale il racconto non segue quello delle uscite. Infatti il primo Guerre stellari viene considerato da Lucas l'epilogo. Facciamo un po' d'ordine per quanto riguarda questo nuovo episodio. Due cavalieri Jedi, Qui-Gon Jin e Obi-Wan Kenobi, stanno cercando di aiutare Amidala, giovane regina di Naboo. Durante il viaggio conoscono un ragazzo, Anakin, che potenzialmente potrebbe diventare un cavaliere Jedi. I nemici questa volta sono Darth Maul e Darth Sidious terribili e pieni di poteri.
