The film is about fifteen year old Astrid (Alison Lohman),
the daughter of the artist Ingrid Magnussen (Michelle Pfeiffer).
When Ingrid gets caught for murdering his fiance
(Which she poisons with the very poisonous plant oleander) Alison ports on different
fosterhem.Astrid then end of Starr (Robin Wright Penn) who has received several
fosterbarn.Starrs husband begins an affair with Astrid, and when this goes up
of Starr, it becomes a brawl that ends with Starr shoots
Astrid in the shoulder and thenflees home with her husband.
